How much does it cost?

Prices vary by campervan, booking length, season and day of the week.

What is the booking deposit?

For reservations made more than 4 weeks in advance of the hire, the booking deposit is 50% of the rental cost. For all other reservations, we require payment in full at the point of booking.

What is the security deposit?

At the start of each hire, we take a refundable security deposit of £850.  Provided there are no end-of-hire charges (e.g. damage, missing fuel, excess miles) this will be returned to you in full.  If there are any end-of-hire charges, the difference will be refunded.  Less cleaning charge of £65.

Please note: Although we endeavour to process your refund on the same day, once actioned it may take up to 7 working days to reach your account.

What is included in the price?

Our campervans come equipped with a fridge, hot and cold running water and a 2-burner gas hob. Fire safety items are also included.

The water tank can hold up to 60l of fresh water and there is plenty of storage space for all of your belongings.

We provide a number of additional items to ensure your campervan rental really is a home away from home! These include, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, cutlery, utensils, kettle, saucepan and frying pan.

To help keep the campervan clean and tidy, we also include a dustpan and brush, cleaning packs and a bin with liner. We also provide 1 camping table and 2 camping chairs.

What are the extras?

All our campervans are fitted with a multi-rail and are available with a drive-away inflatable awning which significantly increases the living space at a separate cost. A bike rack is also available at a separate cost.

Is insurance included?

All our campervans come with specialist comprehensive campervan hirer’s insurance.

Who does the insurance cover?

1 named driver.
A charge of £30 can be paid for additional drivers
Age: between 25 and 70 years young

Nationality*: UK license

Length held: Minimum 2 years

Points*: Up to two minor offenses in the past 5 years is OK (no more than 6 points)
Claims*: No more than 1 claim in the past 5 years
Breakdown cover is also included – details will be in the Campervan.
All named drivers must be present to collect the campervan as they will all need to sign the agreement and present their documents.

What documents do I need to bring when I collect?

Each Driver needs the following:

  1. License check code – (UK drivers only) each UK driver must send in advance their license check code
  2. Passport/proof of ID – (Non UK driver only)
  3. Driving Licence
  4. 2 proofs of address which match the address on your license

The following documentation is acceptable for proof of address alongside the driver’s licence: 

You must provide the following: – 

1 utility bill / statement (primary form of proof) 
1 of the documents listed below (secondary proof)

Both must be dated within 90 days of the hire date 
The address on your licence must match both documents 

What is acceptable:- 
Utilities are as follows: Electricity, Water, Gas, Broadband or Landline, Council tax bill/statement
TV/internet/landline telephone bill (Including Sky/Virgin/BT etc) 
Bank or Credit Statement 
Credit card bill 
Mortgage statement 

A security deposit of £850 (1 per booking). This will be refunded within 1 week of the end of the booking if the vehicle is returned with no damage and can be paid by PayPal or card

How long will it take for you to hand our campervan over to us?

We recommend allowing minimum 1 hour. When you arrive, we will go through your rental agreement, together we will check your vehicle for damage, then we will show you how everything works inside.

How long does returning our campervan take?

We recommend allowing 30 minutes. Upon your return, we will be checking your vehicle for damage and taking a signature to close our agreement.

What if I crash or damage something?

The driver will be liable for the insurance excess in the event of any damage to the vehicle. Anything beyond that is covered by the insurance where a claim can be made. The driver is responsible for getting the contact details of any third parties involved.
The insurance excess amount is £500. The driver will be liable for part or all of the value of the excess in the event of the vehicle being damaged and/or a claim being made.
In the event that no driver was operating the vehicle when the damage occurred the first driver will be named as responsible for the vehicle at that time.

Is breakdown cover included?

Yes. All the campervans have breakdown cover with the RAC including roadside assistance and recovery. If recovery is required, you will be returned with the vehicle to the normal pick-up location for that vehicle.

Can I leave my car with you?

Yes, you can, there is no charge for this. However, Heritage Coastal Campers do not take any responsibility for the vehicle or its contents, whilst it is parked at our premises.

Can I take it to a festival?

Yes, this is not a problem. Additional charges may apply depending on the event.

How many does the Campervan Sleep?

The campervan can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children.

How long can I have the van?

At a minimum, all our vans have a 3-night minimum booking in low and mid-season, with most increasing this to 7 nights in high season.

Can you deliver the van to me?

Delivery can sometimes be arranged depending on location.

Can I fit a child seat?

Most of the campervans have passenger seats suitable for child car seats or boosters, some also come with isofixes.

Do you have a hook up?

All of our campervans have electric hook-up.A hook up means there is a 240v sockets available in the vehicle and a lead to plug in to campsite electrical point. The socket can be used to power mains voltage appliances such as laptop charge or a travel hairdryer.

What else should I consider bringing?

Bedding (pillows/duvet/sheets or sleeping bags), towel, personal items, clothes and food.

What clothes should I pack?

We would recommend that you pack light, layer your clothes for weather changes.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, all our vans are pet friendly but they will be an extra cost of £35.

What if I am allergic to dogs?

We endeavour to clean all of our campervans to a “show room standard”.However, we cannot guarantee that allergens will not be present when your hire commences.

Is there a toilet or shower?

Our campervans are not quite big enough to hold a shower or a toilet – however most good campsites will provide you with these facilities.

Is there a mileage limit?

Yes, there is: 200 miles per day

Standard bookings:
200 miles per day – daily mileage allowance of 200 miles per full day of paid booking
20 pence per mile – charge for miles in excess of the total allowance for the booked period
Special Discounted Bookings: Lower mileage limits may be advertised for special offer bookings

We expect 200 miles per day to cover the vast majority of customers with no additional charges.

Is there a fuel charge?

No. You pick up the campervan with a full tank and bring it back the same way.

Are any of the vans automatic?

Yes, we currently have 1 automatic van.

What happens if I return late?

In the first instance, please let us know ASAP as there might be someone waiting to collect it. In this instance we would offer them a pro rata refund for any delay. We reserve the right to charge you for late return at up to £50 per hour but would always try to avoid this. We can sometimes accommodate later returns if there is no immediate subsequent booking but wouldn’t be able to confirm that until a couple of days before your return.

Do I need to clean the campervan?

Yes, you need to bring the campervan back clean and free from rubbish. Don’t worry about the outside, we’ll be doing that.

Should I book campsites in advance?

We would recommend booking campsites in advance, especially during peak season which begins in the month of June until the end of August. Especially if you like to have the comfort of added facilities.

Do I need to stay in a campsite?

Yes. You don’t have the right to wild camp in the UK. So, you need to be considerate in your choice of park up and be prepared that there is a chance you may be moved on. The Park4Night app is the most commonly mentioned tool for finding park-ups.

Can I smoke in the Campervan?

No, all our campervans are non smoking and vaping.

What is the Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Scheme and how does it work?

As members of this scheme, each of our rental campervans qualifies for a discount of up to 30% off the pitch fees at participating Camping and Caravanning Club sites throughout the UK.

In each of our campervans you will find a copy of the Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Guide, which lists all of the participating sites – to help you to choose the perfect location throughout your journey.

When you’ve selected the Club Site you’d like to stay on, all you have to do is show them the Privilege key fob (which can be found on the keys of your hire vehicle) or arrival to your discount.

What are the procedures regarding Covid-19?

The vans are sanitised after every customer. We work according to PPE procedures.
